Create a linked issue and append/prepend the summary

This article explains how to create a linked issue with JSU’s Create a Linked Issue post function and append/prepend the Summary of the newly created issue from the post function.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to Project settings > Workflows > Edit.

  2. Select the transition that you want to trigger the post function, and then select Post Functions > Add post function.

  3. Select the Create a Linked Issue(JSU) post function then select Add.

  4. Configure the post function as shown below, where the Copy/Set Fields are added using a sub-function and publish the workflow.

 

In the example above, I added two Create A Linked Issue post functions to show the append and prepend functionality defined within the sub-function.

4. Verify the output of the configuration that you have made, as shown below:

 

If you want to add the post function on a Create issue transition, position the post functions below Re-index an issue to keep indexes in sync with the database post function. You can do this using the Up and Down arrows for the corresponding post function.
